We are located at 2982 E Colorado Blvd #111, Pasadena, CA 91107

In our event section you will find our upcoming student concerts

Students in our band program get together once a week with their band and band coach to prepare for concerts and recording sessions.

Piano and drums are the most popular instruments for very young students (5-6 years old). However, we recommend to start with the instrument that your child wants to play and learn. This way your child will be more excited about learning, which will help your child to learn faster and will continue playing music
For our “My Little Star” program, our youngest students are 3 years old. For all other programs, we recommend to be at least 5 years old.
“Level Up” is a program designed similar to the martial arts belt system, but for music lessons. LevelUp is 10 levels of achievement, each with 10 songs and challenges customized by your music instructor. If you would like to participate in this program, please let us know. We would love to have you!
Yes, we have plenty of free parking available
Each student has the option to “freeze” their lessons for 1-3 months at a time without needing to give us an advance notice (request needs to be submitted before the freezing period starts).
There will be no lessons during the freeze period. There is no charge and no processing fee to freeze your lessons.
A $20/month freezing fee only applies if you want your lesson time reserved for you while you are freezing your classes.
You can email us at hello@mmspasadena.com or you can call us during our regular business hours (click here for business hours). We would be happy to confirm your lesson time.
Most of our programs require a 3-month commitment. We believe that it takes at least 3 months to see good progress when learning an instrument. Even though you are committing to 3 months of lessons, the tuition is still paid on a monthly basis. After the 3 months are over, the lessons will be on a month-to-month basis. If you prefer to start with a month-to-month commitment, this is available for an additional $10/month

60min private lessons = 2  group make-up lessons

Having group classes once in a while is very beneficial for the learning process. It is crucial for students to meet other students in their same age, who are also learning music. Music is meant to be played together and in group classes, the students actually get to experience how it feels like playing together. It’s just like a team sport. If you play baseball, you might have private lessons to improve specific skills, but you are also learning with your teammates and play the game together. You actually have to play the game with others to really learn the sport (and in our case it’s music).
Coming to music lessons is about learning, but also about enjoying it and it is oftentimes more fun playing music with other students and making friends. We designed specific lesson plans with worksheets for the group classes that work plus the group classes are small, which allows the teacher to work with each student one-on-one. That is why we believe the opportunity of taking your make-up lessons in a group is fantastic and will actually help the learning process instead of slowing it down.

Many of our students take more than one lesson per week. We definitely recommend taking more than one lesson each week, if your schedule allows it.

Make-Up Lessons

We designed our “Explorer Classes” for you to use your make-up lesson credit and try something new instead of scheduling a make-up class for the instrument you are currently enrolled in.
We offer explorer classes for songwriting, DJing, music production, different instruments and our new blues jam!
Yes absolutely!
There is no limit!

Unfortunately we do not offer make-up lessons that combine two instruments. We suggest you schedule a make-up lesson for the instrument that you want to focus on during your make-up lesson

Yes, that is possible. When scheduling your make-up class, you can see who is teaching the class. It is however possible that the teacher is going to change on a short notice due to sickness or any other last minute urgent reason from the teacher. However, we believe that it is a benefit having lessons with another teacher once in a while. Every teacher is unique and you can learn always something or get to experience a different teaching approach that you might enjoy very much.
When you signed up for your make-up lesson, you received a confirmation email. In this email, click on the button “view sign up”. This will allow you to manage your booking and reschedule your make-up lesson.
Specifically for this reason, we created a make-up lesson schedule in which two instruments have their group make-up lessons on the same day and time and the instrument combination always rotates. If you need help scheduling make-up lessons for all your children on the same day, please let us know and we will happy to help you!
Yes absolutely!

At the moment, we only offer the option to schedule your make-up lessons online for the following instruments: vocals, guitar/bass, drums, and piano . For all other instruments, please contact us via email at hello@mmspasadena.com, by phone (626) 578-9242 or at the front desk. We will be happy to reschedule the class for you.

Our make-up lesson system is based on a trust basis. We do not keep track of how many outstanding make-up lessons each student has.
We trust that you will schedule as many lessons as you believe you have outstanding.

Yes it is still possible to have a private make-up class.
Our group classes are maxed at 5 students per class. If only 1 or 2 students sign up for the class, we will divide the lesson time into 1 or 2 private lessons instead. That being said, a group class only takes place if 3 or more students sign up for the class. When signing up for our group make-up lessons, you are able to see how many students have enrolled in each class so far (if it doesn’t show a specific sign up number, it means no one has signed up for that particular class yet).
If you really want a private lesson, we recommend to sign up for classes with low sign ups (0 or 1 sign up) and very close to the make-up lesson date. We understand that private lessons are often preferred and on a regular basis private lessons are a good choice.
