In our event section you will find our upcoming student concerts
Students in our band program get together once a week with their band and band coach to prepare for concerts and recording sessions.
Piano and drums are the most popular instruments for very young students (5-6 years old). However, we recommend to start with the instrument that your child wants to play and learn. This way your child will be more excited about learning, which will help your child to learn faster and will continue playing music |
For our “My Little Star” program, our youngest students are 3 years old. For all other programs, we recommend to be at least 5 years old. |
“Level Up” is a program designed similar to the martial arts belt system, but for music lessons. LevelUp is 10 levels of achievement, each with 10 songs and challenges customized by your music instructor. If you would like to participate in this program, please let us know. We would love to have you! |
Yes, we have plenty of free parking available |
You can email us at hello@mmspasadena.com or you can call us during our regular business hours (click here for business hours). We would be happy to confirm your lesson time. |
Most of our programs require a 3-month commitment. We believe that it takes at least 3 months to see good progress when learning an instrument. Even though you are committing to 3 months of lessons, the tuition is still paid on a monthly basis. After the 3 months are over, the lessons will be on a month-to-month basis. If you prefer to start with a month-to-month commitment, this is available for an additional $10/month |
Many of our students take more than one lesson per week. We definitely recommend taking more than one lesson each week, if your schedule allows it. |
Yes, we offer summer camps at Modern Music School Pasadena. Once the summer camp schedule is announced, you can find the exact dates at our summer camp page. |

Make-Up Lessons
There is no limit! |
Unfortunately we do not offer make-up lessons that combine two instruments. We suggest you schedule a make-up lesson for the instrument that you want to focus on during your make-up lesson
Yes, that is possible. When scheduling your make-up class, you can see who is teaching the class. It is however possible that the teacher is going to change on a short notice due to sickness or any other last minute urgent reason from the teacher. However, we believe that it is a benefit having lessons with another teacher once in a while. Every teacher is unique and you can learn always something or get to experience a different teaching approach that you might enjoy very much. |
Specifically for this reason, we created a make-up lesson schedule in which two instruments have their group make-up lessons on the same day and time and the instrument combination always rotates. If you need help scheduling make-up lessons for all your children on the same day, please let us know and we will happy to help you! |
At the moment, we only offer the option to schedule your make-up lessons online for the following instruments: vocals, guitar/bass, drums, and piano . For all other instruments, please contact us via email at hello@mmspasadena.com, by phone (626) 578-9242 or at the front desk. We will be happy to reschedule the class for you.
